I was lucky to see the Alice in Wonderland in IMAX 3D on opening night this past Friday. I’ll admit that I was a bit reluctant because well, it’s Alice in Wonderland, a kids story right? I was wrong, it’s so much more. There’s a lot to love about the film. First off, seeing it in 3D is amazing and totally worth it. The Johnny Depp performance was outstanding, I just couldn’t picture anyone but him playing that role, and visually there’s just so much to see. It’s so stimulating being in the fantasy world with all the characters, critters and surroundings oh, and the 3D just made it all that much better. I was reluctant at first but I have to tell ya I am glad I went. Do yourself a favor and check it out. It’s worth it!

From the guys that brought us the Treadmill video here’s another. I heard a little background on it last night on CNN where they said they had to go through two piano’s alone just to get it right. Either way its cool and reminds me of the old Mouse Trap game from when I was a kid! LOL Enjoy!

Why is it the things that taste so good are so bad for you? Chocolate, cookies, french fries…well you get the point, all the stuff we love to eat is just so unhealthy. Now I’ll admit from time to time I will eat one of those bad things but to be honest the one I probably avoid more than any other would be fries. Don’t get me wrong I love ‘em. I mean who doesn’t? But they are just soooo bad for you and who comes in for the worst fries in America? Well the award goes to…Five Guys (I haven’t been there yet but I hear their burgers rock). Their regular order of fries are 1,464 calories, 71g of fat and 213mg of sodium. That is just crazy! The big question is will it stop me from trying them when I finally get to a Five Guys? Probably not….That just means a few more minutes of cardio on my work out! Read all about the other fries that made the list here.

So last night I got the opportunity to see the Broadway in Columbus production of Dreamgirls. Being a bit of a Broadway fan (OK that’s an understatement) and of course a fan of this particular show I was very skeptical, being that there are obviously some big shoes to fill in the role of Effie. Who could possibly take the place of Jennifer Holiday or Jennifer Hudson? Well I wasn’t let down. Actually the whole show was so well done that I would highly recommend it to anyone. If you have some free time be sure to catch it this weekend before it leaves town. You’ll be glad you did!

I don’t know about you, but with all the snow we’ve had and all the shoveling we have had to do, I am running out of places to put it! Although I will say that these past few weeks have really made me appreciate having a 4×4. While my neighbors are stuck in the snow over and over again I am the lucky one that just pulls right out and goes on my way. The problem tho, is trying to move the snow. I feel like we have so much now and the piles are so big that I don’t know where to put it. I can only pile it so high!? I’m sure you know what I mean! Can you just imagine how long this stuff is going to take to melt!?

If you were one of the (maybe) 2,500 people at the show last night I’m sure you will agree when I say that Mariah still has it. In my opinion (and those with me at the show felt the same way) Mariah sounded amazing. However her showmanship had much to be desired. The stage was nothing exciting, just a few risers with white drapes and lights around ‘em (I expected this diva to have a runway - but she didn’t). The backup dancers weren’t all that outstanding and the “show” part of the concert gets a big fat D in my book. On the other hand, musically the girl still has it. Although there were a few songs (and just a few) that I could have done without most of her stuff was the familar music we’ve come to know and love from Mariah. Although it was a bit short, that could be blamed on her (I’ve been told) decision to drop 6 tunes since starting this tour. All in all I have to admit I was a bit underwhelmed by the whole thing. I kept thinking that Mariah Carey, one of the first images that pops in my head when I think music diva, could and should put on a much better “show.”

Tonight we get to see the debut of Ellen on Idol. I’m really curious to see how she’s going to work out in this role. Don’t get me wrong, I love her and think she’s very entertaining. I’m just very curious to see what direction she will take sitting in that judges chair. Hopefully she’ll do what she does best and lend a bit of comedy to the show, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Oh and speaking of AI judges. Did you hear the latest rumor about who might take Simon’s place? Word on the street is that Howard Stern is being eyed for the role. Love him or hate him, when you stop and think about it he would bring quite an interesting perspective to the panel. Not to mention Idol could capitalize on the household name and his edgier rock following. Out of all the rumors I’ve heard for who will take Simon’s place this is my pick. What do you think?

It seems ever since the Justin Timberlake/Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction incident the Superbowl halftime show has gone down him. Don’t you agree? I’m a music lover as much as anyone, but really, The Who? Come on when you look at pop culture today, The Who is probably the LAST group I would think about. I guess Taylor Swift or Lady Gaga were busy.
